Caught Up In His Love

By: Danielle Marcus

“Go get your shit on and let’s go.” I demanded, pushing up so that my stiffy could poke her in the ass.

She smiled a devilish grin. “Lance no, I barely made tip out.”

I reached into my pocket and pulled out five crisp hundred dollar bills. “There is yo’ tip out. Now what’s up? Go get your shit so that we can go.” I lifted her from my lap after she took the bills from my hand, then I motioned for her to head to the locker room to change.

Once Nyla had disappeared, I turned to Reece and tapped him, “Come on bro, let’s get up out of here.”

“Nah, I’m gone chill for a little minute. I ain’t got no woman to come home to, so I’m about to find me a little hot one to stick some pipe to.”

I definitely could dig that, so I dapped him up and waited in the car for Nyla to come out. I was about to blow her fucking back out for all the shit she was just talking.

Chapter Six

Tish

I never planned to give in to Lance so easily, but love would have you feeling like Bozo the Clown. I didn’t exactly believe his story about Nyla, but I couldn’t prove him different either. A part of me was just giving up and going with the flow.

I let out a sigh. I needed this away time to clear my mind. Lance had been smothering me with attention, and it confused my ass. After all that tough shit I was talking, I was right back in his arms, as if me catching him with Nyla never happened.

When I got to Raina’s house, I had to roll my eyes. Her driveway was packed with fancy cars, which meant that E was there. It was only supposed to be the ladies at the house.

After knocking on the door, he swung it open. “Hey E, where your girl at?” I asked following him back to where the guys were.

“In the den with her little ratchet cousins. You the only friend of hers I like.” He told me with a chuckle. I shook my head with a smile. E wasn’t lying when he said that Lady and Amber were known to get a little ghetto. Hell, I had my ratchet moments as well.

In order to get to the den, I had to pass the dining room. As expected, all eyes were on me and I did my best to walk through as quickly as possible.

I did a quick wave, discreetly scoping the scene. E had some cute friends, but there was one in particular that had me staring a little longer than I was supposed to. His eyes were dark and alluring. I had to force myself to pull away from his scrutinizing glare.

“You see something you like beautiful?” He smirked cockily. “You can’t speak, ma?”

He was giving me that look like he wanted to eat me, and I almost wouldn’t have minded letting him.

I loved me some chocolate and he was the perfect cocoa complexion with wavy hair, and he had a little dimple when he smiled. Lawd, and the tattoo on his neck! I wanted to lick it, just to see if his chocolate was the type that melted in my mouth.

“I waved at everyone when I walked into the room. I didn’t know I needed to give you special attention,” I sassed, knowing I was fronting. He already had my special attention, and that quick encounter had heat shooting straight to my kitty.

The men burst out into laughter. “Man Tish, ignore him. Raina in the back.” E chuckled, pointing to the den.

I walked past them and into the den, but not before taking a second glance at Mr. Cocky. He was still staring and I knew that I needed to get my mind right because I was immediately drawn to him.

“What’s up! My boo is here! Hey boo!” Raina squealed, hopping up to give me a hug as soon as I walked into the den. Lady and Amber waved at me too.

“Hey boo!” I hugged her back. “Who are they?” I questioned, pointing toward the living room. “I thought that we were having a ladies’ night.”

She rolled her eyes and blew out a breath of air. “Those are E’s people. He heard me talking about inviting the girls over and decided that he should invite his brother and their friends too… which is a good thing because now you can meet Los.” She gave me this sneaky grin, alerting me that this was not E’s idea at all.

“You can’t lie to save yo’ life, heffa’. I could have met Los at the get together Saturday! Besides, Lance and I are going to work it out. He was only with Nyla so that she could help him pick me out an engagement ring. I was tripping.” I thought that if I told her that lie, it would make me feel better. But it didn’t because I knew that everyone in the room knew that it was complete bullshit.
